Yamaha's highest quality 3D sound field reproduction technology was developed by combining actually measured sound field data with the latest digital signal processing technology. The revised CINEMA DSP HD3 features new signal processing algorithms and maximizes movie theater sound effects, creating a new dimension of realism. This creates a sound field with an intense sense of presence and without the impression of boundaries. By using front, center and surround speakers to create a virtual rear speaker, CINEMA DSP HD3 playback of up to 11.1 channels is possible even with a 7.1-channel speaker configuration*.

Dolby Atmos® with Height Virtualization
For those who don't have ceiling speakers or upward-firing speakers, there's Dolby Atmos with Height Virtualization. This system simulates the Atmos sound experience with front-firing speakers. You can configure up to five speakers to have the same effect as two ceiling speakers, or use all seven channels for an effective simulation of four overhead speakers.
