We AreEast Africa'sHigh-End AudioAuthority.
Founded in Karen, Nairobi, on the conviction that Kenyans deserve the same world-class audio experience available in London, Tokyo and New York — with the same standards of expertise, installation quality and after-sales care that those markets take for granted. We are Prime Audiovisuals Solutions. And this is our story.
Nairobi, Kenya
Brand Partners
Disciplines
Specialists in the Art of Extraordinary Sound
There is a frustration that anyone in Kenya who has ever seriously tried to buy high-end audio equipment will recognise. The options were limited to overpriced grey-market imports carrying no meaningful warranty, mass-market electronics chains staffed by generalists who had never listened to what they were selling, or expensive international travel to access what simply was not available here.
We built Prime Audiovisuals Solutions to change that — to establish in Kenya what every mature audio market already had: a specialist dealership with genuine manufacturer partnerships, deep product knowledge, professional installation capability and the kind of honest, ongoing client relationship that transforms a purchase into a lasting investment.
We are not a general electronics retailer that happens to stock some speakers. We are a team of passionate audio specialists whose entire practice is devoted to one discipline: bringing extraordinary sound into the spaces where people live. Every brand in our portfolio was chosen deliberately and listened to carefully. Every system we recommend, we believe in. Every installation we complete, we calibrate before we leave.
That level of intentionality takes time to build — and it shows. It shows in the clients who return to upgrade rather than replace. In the architects and interior designers who include us in their project teams from the first drawing. In the families across Nairobi whose homes carry the work of our hands and our ears — and who tell their friends "you need to go and hear what these people did for us."
Our home is Karen. Our reach is national. Our standard is the same wherever we work and whatever the budget.
The Six Principles That Drive Everything We Do
These are not marketing statements. They are the decisions we make every day — about which brands to carry, which recommendations to give, and how we conduct ourselves with every client.
How We Grew From a Dealership Into an Audio Authority
We did not arrive fully formed. We grew deliberately — one brand partnership, one installation, one client relationship at a time. Each stage of our growth was a direct response to what the market was asking us for.
We open at Soko Safi Mall, Ngong Road, Nairobi — with a clear mandate and a deliberately narrow focus. The Kenyan audio market was underserved in a specific and important way: serious buyers who wanted genuine high-end equipment, properly supported, with real warranties and professional installation, had nowhere to go. Grey importers offered uncertain provenance and no after-sales support. Consumer electronics chains offered mass-market products sold by staff with no specialist knowledge. Neither served the audience we were building for.
Our founding philosophy was simple: become the authorised distributor in Kenya for the world's best audio brands at each price tier — and deliver them with the expertise and professionalism those brands' clients receive in Europe and Asia. Not a wider range of products. A deeper, more considered range, held to a higher standard.
The first two partnerships define our founding character and remain the backbone of our portfolio today. Canton — founded in 1972 in the village of Weilrod, Germany, by four audiophiles whose combined conviction was that speakers should be built with engineering precision, not marketing budget. The name is a hybrid of the Latin cantare (to sing) and the German Ton (tone). Over 50 years later, still family-owned, still engineered in Germany, still one of the most respected speaker manufacturers in the world.
Tonewinner — 30+ years of Chinese audio engineering producing THX-certified, internationally distributed multi-channel amplifiers, AV processors and speakers that deliver reference cinema standards at prices that bring those standards within reach of a far wider audience. The combination of Canton's speaker excellence and Tonewinner's electronics muscle gives us the full performance spectrum from entry Dolby Atmos packages to no-compromise cinema systems.
The Karen showroom receives its first visitors. The first home surround systems are installed and calibrated. The response from the market is immediate: this is exactly what Nairobi has been waiting for.
The early success of our home surround offering reveals something important: beneath the demand for cinema audio is a deeper, more private passion — music. Not just music playing in the background while films are watched. Music as the primary event. People who come to the showroom and ask not about Dolby Atmos speaker layouts, but about what a properly matched integrated amplifier and a pair of serious Canton floorstanders does to a recording they love.
The HiFi market in Kenya had been almost entirely neglected by serious dealers. Two-channel stereo systems — the audiophile's primary reference — were either unavailable or accessible only through expensive international purchases. We see the gap clearly and move deliberately to fill it.
Advance Paris joins the portfolio. Founded in France in 1995, their signature is a hybrid amplifier topology that combines transistor precision with tube warmth — a combination that produces a musical character that pure solid-state designs struggle to match. Their pairing with Canton's transparent, detailed speakers creates a stereo experience unlike anything previously available in Kenya at its price point. The A10 integrated, the A12, and the anniversary APEX series give clients a genuine upgrade path as their audio ambitions grow.
Vulkkano enters the range to serve the client who wants the HiFi experience without the premium barrier — bookshelf speakers, active monitors and subwoofers that deliver real musical character at genuinely accessible prices. The Karen showroom evolves. A dedicated HiFi listening area is established. Clients begin booking appointments rather than walking in — a signal that the relationship between audio retailer and client is changing into something more considered.
The audiophile world is experiencing a moment of genuine disruption. A Chinese brand called Eversolo — operating from Shenzhen — is producing network streamers and DAC/streamer combinations that are receiving reviews in Stereophile, What Hi-Fi and The Absolute Sound that their price points should not attract. The DMP-A6 in particular is described as a benchmark product — a 32-bit/DSD512 streaming DAC with a comprehensive streaming platform and a build quality that shames products costing three times as much.
We bring an Eversolo DMP-A6 into the Karen showroom and place it in the reference HiFi system. What it does to the sound of Qobuz streaming through the Canton and Advance Paris chain confirms the international reviews immediately. This is the source component that completes our HiFi offering — and the platform that allows our clients to access 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution audio from Qobuz, Tidal, Amazon Music Ultra HD and Apple Music through a single, beautifully designed device.
Eversolo becomes our official streaming partner in Kenya. The DMP-A6, DMP-A8 and DMP-A10 arrive as genuine stock. For the first time, a Kenyan audiophile can experience what hi-res streaming actually sounds like — not compressed audio from a phone — through a properly calibrated reference system. The audiophile community's response in Nairobi is immediate and enthusiastic.
A pattern emerges in our client conversations that we cannot ignore. The growing interest is not only in audio quality — it is in audio integration. Interior designers begin approaching us asking whether we can provide speaker solutions that disappear into their designs. Architects specify projects in which sound is required everywhere but visible equipment is not an option. Homeowners building and renovating ask for music in every room — controlled from a phone — without a single speaker stand, cable or component disrupting the visual identity of the spaces they are creating.
The demand for architectural audio is real, growing and completely underserved in Nairobi. We recognise that meeting it requires more than adding a few ceiling speaker models to our range — it requires building a genuine custom installation practice from the ground up. That means the right brands, the right methodology, the right documentation, and the right team capability to design, install and commission multi-zone systems across residential, commercial and outdoor environments to a professional standard.
ArtSound — founded in Belgium in 2001 with the single purpose of making audio invisible — becomes our primary architectural partner. Their catalogue covers every scenario a custom installer encounters: residential in-wall and in-ceiling, commercial 100V line distributed audio, outdoor weatherproof speakers, multiroom streaming amplifiers, and all-in-one active in-wall streaming solutions. BLAM Audio from France adds audiophile-grade in-wall performance to the range — basalt composite drivers, adjustable tweeter gain and paintable magnetic grilles that vanish into the wall surface completely.
WiiM solves the multi-zone streaming and control challenge — an intuitive app, Roon Ready certification, ESS 32-bit DAC chips and the CI MOD A4 four-zone rack amplifier purpose-built for installer environments. Anthem's ARC Genesis room correction and zone processing provides the acoustic intelligence layer for demanding multi-room and home cinema builds. U&K Sound rounds out the in-wall and in-ceiling range for residential and commercial applications.
Our first major custom install projects are completed in Karen and Muthaiga. The word travels among interior designers and architects precisely because the work is invisible — the only evidence a system is present is the quality of the sound that fills the room.
Everything we had built — the audio electronics expertise, the custom install practice, the projection technology partnerships, the acoustic knowledge, the automation integration capability — was pointing toward the same destination. The bespoke home cinema. Not a packaged product. Not a room with a projector and some speakers. A fully integrated, professionally designed, acoustically treated, calibrated-to-reference private cinema — built specifically for a family, in their space, around their vision.
By 2024 we have the team depth and the partner relationships to offer something no other company in Kenya can genuinely match: a complete, end-to-end home cinema design and build service covering all six disciplines under one roof. Home automation and scene control. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and THX-grade audio electronics. 4K laser projection with motorised acoustic cinema screens. Premium reclining cinema furniture and tiered seating platforms. Expert acoustic treatment designed from acoustic simulation data. Professional noise insulation to STC 60+ standards where required.
Our first completed bespoke cinema builds deliver Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 systems calibrated to cinema reference levels — 85dB C-weighted at the primary listening position — with Anthem ARC Genesis room correction, Canton Reference in-wall speakers and Tonewinner multi-channel power amplification. The results match commercial cinema standards in private homes. Clients who experience the completed rooms — the acoustic silence of a properly insulated space, the three-dimensional envelopment of object-based audio, the scale of a reference projection image — consistently describe the same response: "I did not think this was possible at home."
That response is why we built what we built. And it is the standard we hold every cinema project to.
Three years from our founding, Prime Audiovisuals Solutions is a fundamentally different company from where we started — and exactly the company we always intended to become. We have grown in the places where our clients needed us to grow. Not wider. Deeper. More capable. More knowledgeable. With more sophisticated installation and project management capability, a richer brand portfolio, and a track record of delivered projects that speaks more clearly than any marketing can.
The Karen showroom is still the heart of everything we do. It is where new clients come to hear what is possible. Where our team listens, debates and refines its understanding of what great sounds like. Where the standard we hold ourselves to is heard every day — in systems that are playing, calibrated, real.
The story is not finished. The brands we partner with continue to innovate. Our clients' spaces and ambitions continue to evolve. And our determination to bring the world's finest audio into the homes and lives of East African families grows with every project we complete.
From Dealership to Full-Service Audio Authority
Each chapter of our growth was a direct response to what our clients were asking for — and to our conviction that we could deliver it at a standard the Kenyan market had not seen before.
Decades of Engineering Excellence Behind Every Product We Sell
We chose every partnership deliberately. Each brand carries a heritage, a philosophy and an engineering tradition that justifies its place in what we offer — and earns its place on the floor of the Karen showroom.
The Reasons Clients Come Back — And Send Their Friends
Trust is not declared. It is built — through every recommendation, every installation, every call answered after the sale. These are the things our clients consistently tell us they value most about working with us.
The audio market in Kenya has historically offered its most serious buyers two unacceptable choices: grey-market imports with uncertain provenance and no after-sales support, or mass-market consumer electronics sold by generalists who had never listened to what they were recommending. Neither served the audience that Prime Audiovisuals Solutions was built for.
We built this company as the complete alternative to that experience. Every product we sell is genuine and fully warranted. Every system we install is calibrated before we leave. Every client who calls us after purchase reaches a team member who knows their system, remembers the installation and genuinely wants to help.
Our team listens to everything we sell — in different rooms, at different volumes, playing different content — because the advice we give has to come from real experience, not a specification sheet. That experience is what allows us to advise a client against a more expensive option when it is not right for their space or their needs. And that honesty, unusual in this market, is perhaps the thing our clients value most.
We will not sell you what you do not need. We will not promise a result we cannot deliver. And we will not hand over a system until it sounds exactly the way it should. The track record that has built our reputation in three years is the only marketing we genuinely trust.
Why Every Shilling You Spend With Us Works Harder
Value for money is not the same as cheap. A cheap audio system that disappoints on first listen, fails within a year, or cannot be serviced when it develops a fault, is not value — it is money wasted twice. Real value for money means spending what you planned to spend, on something that performs beyond your expectations, lasts for decades, and is supported for the entire time you own it.
Every brand we carry was chosen partly because of the extraordinary performance-to-price ratio it delivers. Canton GLE speakers outperform competitors at twice their price. Tonewinner's multi-channel amplifiers bring THX-certified reference standards within reach of a far wider audience than traditional separates manufacturers. Eversolo streamers routinely outperform competitors at double their price points in blind listening tests. Advance Paris amplifiers bring genuine hybrid tube technology to price points that previously required a far larger investment. We chose these brands not because of their marketing — because of what they do when you actually listen to them.
Our job in every client conversation is to maximise the result of the budget we are given — not to extract the maximum from it. When we design a KES 800,000 home surround system, our client should feel they received KES 1.2M of performance. When we complete a home cinema build, the experience should exceed what the budget suggested was possible. That is the standard our clients hold us to — and the one we hold ourselves to every day.
