The Prime Audiovisuals Promise
A bespoke home cinema is the most personal luxury a family can build into their home. It is not a product you select from a brochure — it is a collaboration between your vision and our expertise. Every dimension, every acoustic surface, every speaker position, every automation scene, every fabric choice in the seating — designed together, executed to the highest standard.
We have built cinemas in living rooms, in dedicated basement theatres, in compact media rooms and in grand purpose-designed spaces. We have delivered Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 systems and THX-certified layouts that match commercial cinema standards in private homes across Nairobi. The budget changes. The standard never does.
Our clients walk in with an empty room and walk out with a space their family will use every single day — and a system they will talk about for the rest of their lives. That is what we build.
Six Disciplines. One Masterpiece.
Every element of your home cinema — from the acoustics of the walls to the streaming source — is designed, supplied and integrated by our team. Nothing is left to chance. Nothing is handed off to someone else.
The most important technology in your home cinema is the one no one ever sees. Automation is the intelligence layer that unifies every device, every system and every experience into a single, effortless interaction. Press "Movie Night" on your phone — or simply say the words — and a choreographed sequence begins: the room lighting dims to your preferred level and colour temperature, the motorised blackout blinds descend, the acoustic screen unfurls, the projector warms up on its lamp cycle, the AV processor selects the streaming input, and the power amplifiers come to operating temperature — all while the family settles in.
When the film ends, "Lights Up" reverses every step. No remotes hunting. No settings to remember. No configuration for guests to navigate. The cinema is as easy to use as pressing one button — because that is what it should be.
We integrate your cinema into the wider home automation platform of your choice — whether that is a simple app-based control system, a voice-activated assistant, or a full Crestron or Control4 installation for whole-home management. The cinema becomes part of your home's intelligence, not an island of complexity within it.
Audio carries 60% of the emotional impact of any film. The moment a Dolby Atmos mix breaks open over a properly calibrated speaker system — with sound moving overhead, sweeping from side to side, pinpoint dialogue from a perfectly positioned centre channel, and a subwoofer that physically moves the air — something changes. You stop watching the film. You are inside it.
We specify audio electronics at three levels of performance, all calibrated to cinema reference standards using Anthem's ARC Genesis room correction — the most sophisticated automated acoustic correction system available at any price. Every speaker in the room is measured at the listening position and corrected for the room's exact acoustic signature. What comes out of the speakers is what the mixing engineer put in.
For the most demanding builds, we deploy the Tonewinner separates platform — independent AV processor and multi-channel power amplification — with Canton Reference or Vento in-wall speakers, dual subwoofers, and dedicated Atmos height channels. This is a THX-comparable system in a private home. For mid-range and entry builds, the Tonewinner integrated packages deliver performance that still exceeds any commercial cinema in the region.
The image is where cinema lives. A great projector on a correctly specified screen — sized for the room, calibrated to reference colour standards — creates a physical, visceral experience that the finest flat-panel television cannot replicate. Scale matters. A 120-inch image at 4K resolution with full HDR10+ or Dolby Vision fills your peripheral vision the way a commercial cinema screen does — and that immersion is what changes how films feel.
We specify and calibrate projection systems from Sony's native 4K SXRD range, JVC's D-ILA laser projectors and BenQ's cinema-grade 4K laser platforms — each selected based on room dimensions, ambient light conditions and client budget. Our Anthem ARC Genesis room correction applies to the audio layer while the display is calibrated separately to D65 reference white point, Rec.709 colour space and the correct gamma curve for the content type — exactly as in a professional post-production suite.
Screens are sourced and installed as motorised, acoustically transparent cinema screens — allowing speakers to be positioned behind the screen surface for true front soundstage accuracy — or as fixed-frame solutions in dedicated rooms. Every screen is specified in the correct gain, aspect ratio and masking configuration for the projector and room.
A great cinema system installed into poorly designed or uncomfortable seating undermines every other investment in the room. The furniture is not an afterthought — it is the interface between your family and the experience. Every seat should be precisely positioned for optimal screen viewing angle and acoustic benefit, every row elevated on its platform so that sightlines are perfect, and every element of the interior — from the aisle lighting to the ceiling treatment — designed to amplify the cinema atmosphere.
We work with premium cinema furniture partners to specify and install reclining cinema seating that is built to the quality of a five-star screening room: motorised recline, USB charging, ambient base lighting, cup holders and individual tray tables as standard. Upholstery is selected for acoustic performance as well as aesthetics — leather, microfibre and velvet options in any colour matched to your interior design palette.
Tiered platforms are constructed to the correct rake angle for optimal sightlines from every row, with integrated cable management beneath. The total cinema interior — walls, ceiling, screen frame, seating platform and lighting — is designed as a single composition, not assembled from separate purchases.
The single biggest difference between a mediocre home cinema and a genuinely exceptional one is not the brand of the amplifier or the resolution of the projector. It is the acoustics of the room. An untreated room takes the most expensive audio system and floods it with reflections, flutter echo, standing waves and bass build-up that makes even the finest speakers sound muddled, harsh and confused.
Acoustic treatment begins at the design stage — before a single panel is ordered. We analyse your room's dimensions, surface materials and proposed speaker layout using acoustic simulation software, identifying the reflection points, resonant frequencies and areas of potential bass accumulation. We then design a treatment plan using a combination of broadband absorption, diffusion and bass trapping — specified precisely for your room, not taken from a generic formula.
The treatment is then installed as fabric-wrapped acoustic panels, which double as the decorative finish of the cinema walls — so the room looks like a professional screening suite and performs like one. Anthem ARC Genesis room correction is applied at commissioning to resolve any remaining acoustic issues in the digital domain, taking the room from very good to exceptional.
A home cinema that can be heard from the bedroom at 10pm is not a home cinema — it is a problem. Equally, a cinema room that admits the sound of traffic, domestic noise or air conditioning from outside is a room that constantly reminds you it is a room. Proper noise insulation resolves both directions simultaneously: sound stays inside where it belongs, and outside noise stays outside.
We design and build noise insulation solutions based on the structural requirements of each project. For a new-build dedicated cinema room, the ideal solution is a room-within-a-room construction — a fully decoupled inner shell of mass-loaded vinyl, resilient channel and double-leaf drylining that achieves STC ratings of 60 or above, making the room acoustically near-inaudible to the rest of the house. For retrofit projects in existing rooms, we achieve substantial isolation using a combination of mass-loaded vinyl lining, acoustic sealant, isolation mounts for structure-borne vibration and professionally sealed acoustic doors.
The result is a room you can run at reference level — 85dB C-weighted at the listening position, the standard for Dolby Atmos content — while the rest of the household experiences nothing. Your family watches films, your guests sleep peacefully. Both are possible in the same house.
We Build to Certified Cinematic Standards
Every cinema we deliver is configured to the same audio and visual reference standards used in commercial screening rooms and post-production suites worldwide. These are not marketing badges — they are engineering specifications.
From Empty Room to Finished Masterpiece
Every Prime Audiovisuals Solutions home cinema follows a rigorous six-stage delivery process. There are no shortcuts — because shortcuts are what produce systems that disappoint. Our process produces systems that inspire.
A Cinema for Every Ambition
Every build is bespoke — these tiers indicate the scale and scope of what is achievable at each level. All prices are indicative starting points; your final specification will be quoted after the discovery meeting.
Nairobi's Home Cinema Authority
Building a home cinema is the most complex audio-visual project a family can undertake — and the one with the highest cost of getting it wrong. An acoustically untreated room undermines the finest speakers. A poorly insulated cinema ruins the rest of the home. A projector installed without proper screen matching produces an image that disappoints at the price paid. Automation programmed without an understanding of how families actually use rooms produces a system that gradually gets ignored.
We have built our practice around understanding all six disciplines — not just the audio, not just the screen, not just the furniture — and integrating them with the mastery that only comes from having done it many times before, across many different spaces, with many different families. That mastery is what you are paying for. And it is what makes the result extraordinary.
